A showcase in social design

The bright game is a collabaritve physical game that aims to level the playing field between the visually and non visually impaired. Developed to foster communication, collaboration and inclusivity, the bright game has been showcased at the Dutch Design Week 2024. The game was developed on and off over the course of 18 months. Starting as a project for the Industrial Desing Engineering bachelor at the University of twente, and eventually beeing selected as one of ten project for the 4TU exhibition. Beeing selected from a pool of over a hundred projects and beeing the only bachelor students was truly an honour. Developing this game has been an absolute joy, and a special thank you to my collegues and all that came to play. About the game

The bright game is a puzzle solving game that focuses on fostering communication between two players. One player has the manual that instructs the team on how to solve the game while the other sits blindfolded with the box in front of them. The box consists of 6 smaller games that all need to be solved by analyzing clues given to the player with the box. They need to Interpret what they are hearing and feeling while cummincating with their partner. The person with the manual needs to analyze this information and communicate what the blind folded player should do. The game has been designed to be inclusive for the visually impaired. Manuals were made in normal text and braille. The entire experience was made to ensure that the playing field would always be equal.
