Reimagined drone docking.

As a part of my bachelors thesis, i developed a new docking solution for Corvus Drones. Corvus Drones develop fully autnomous, AI driven analysis drones for the horticulture sector. Their products operate exclusivly in greenhouses, a hostile enviroment for sensetive electronic equipment. Corvus were facing two main problems, landing reliability and moisture damage from greenhouse sprinkler systems. Over the course of 5 months, i worked with Corvus at their offices in Ede, Netherlands to develop the new solution.

The solution.

The new docking solution features an electromagnetic atachment system that proved reliable and space effiecient. This docking system allows the drone to be well protected from splashing water. Other key requirements were keeping the redesign process minimally invasive to minimize redesign costs and creating solutions that are sutible for low volume production while keeping the possibility to scale. The final thesis is currently under review and will be available here very soon.
